Neatest Crochet Pattern
For A "Changes Every Time"
Crocheted Hooded Scarf

Crochet Hooded Scarf

This pattern is unique in that nothing is 'required' except for the measurements and that will insure the hooded scarf will fit anyone. The crocheter has the choice of hook size, yarn type, stitches, gauge and closure method (if any). This pattern also does not care if you are right or left handed. As long as the measurements are followed, size will fit the individual regardless of the type of yarn used (baby, sport weight, worsted weight, bulky, etc) or the hook size. Using different yarns and hooks will give an entirely different look each time the item is made.
The pattern for a Ladies small was made using Caron Simply Soft 100% Acrylic Worsted Weight Yarn #9703 Bone and used approximately 12 ounces.
Suggested Stitches: Single Crochet (SC);
Half Double Crochet (HDC);
Double Crochet (DC);
Triple Crochet (TC);
Suggested Closures for the front of the scarf: None, Ties, Buttons, Zipper, Velcro, Hook & Eye; Snaps.
Pattern Choice:
SC Pattern: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
HDC Pattern: HDC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
DC Pattern: DC in each stitch across, chain 2, turn
TC Pattern: TC in each stitch across, chain 3, turn

Using the hook, attach yarn in a corner stitch at neck edge with a SC. SC in each stitch around neck edge and the front of the hood. Fasten Off.
Fold the front edge of the hood 1 ½" toward the back and on the outside of the hood. Tack in place at each corner and once or twice across the top.
For the scarf: Make a chain as long as the FRONT LENGTH ( ), SC in the first corner stitch and each stitch around, then chain as long as the FRONT LENGTH, turn. Follow your pattern until piece measures the SHOULDER LENGTH( ). Fasten off.
Starting at the neck edge of the scarf, with the right side facing, SC in first stitch and each stitch around with 3 SC in each corner.
If you have chosen a Closure Method, the first closure should be at the neck, with the rest of the closures evenly spaced down the front of the scarf. If you have chosen to use Ties, make a chain 7" long and join with a SC in the stitch.
This Hooded Scarf can be worn either under or over the coat.

    Wow! I'm amazed being able to make the instructions generic enough to fit everyone and still detained enough to make. I bow to the master!
    Thanks for taking a look at my site. I doubt so much if it was your computer that gave you the problem. Ever since amazon changed some of their formats, the pictures have suffered. Here's crossing my fingers its fixed!
