Created my first pattern!

This is a button front shawl I made for my
Mother for Christmas. Below is the pattern.
I used Caron's Simply Soft yarn and a G hook.
The dimensions are 48"x17".
EASY

Button Front Shawl

Begin at side edge, ch 188

Row 1: (RS) Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across-185 sts, ch4, turn.

Row 2: Sk 1st st, *dc in next 6 sts, ch2, sk next st, dc in next 6 sts, ch1, sk next st: repeat from * and end dc in last st, ch4, turn.

Row 3: Repeat row 2 until piece measures 17". Finish off & weave in ends. Drape evenly across shoulders and mark with safety pins to place 3 buttons in front. Buttons go on left side, line them up along edge to match the holes in pattern (see detail below):

You can also refer to picture of finished

shawl. I used 3 buttons to keep the neck

warm, if desired you could make this an

off the shoulder shawl and simply use less

buttons. This is a versatile pattern insomuch

as it can be made shorter or longer. If you

make this let me know. You are welcome to

link to this pattern, but please do not copy

to your website.

Hi Elaine. I made this shawl for my mom, too - and it is her very most favorite shawl by far! She loves the buttons making the shawl "hands-free" Thanks so much for sharing your pattern. :-) Christy
